It's a wonderful movie that would be completely pointless on stage. (Not to mention that it would sort of collapse under itself.)

Touche, Gruyere. The only thing worse than big studio movies like Legally Blonde turned into big Brodaway musicals is thoughful, fascinating and small little indie films turned into big Broadway musicals.
I would, however, be interested to see what Twyla Tharp would do with ONCE if she kept it simple like she did with Movin' Out.
I would rather see Twyla Tharp do something new, with a new score. How about Jeff Tweedy?
(Or, failing that, she can stage SMiLE. Maybe.)
